TAITO has unveiled the first figure in its newly announced AMP+ Snow Miku project, revealing Snow Miku 2012 as the opening release in an ambitious collection celebrating the beloved winter mascot.

Snow Miku is a special seasonal version of Hatsune Miku that first debuted in 2010 as part of Hokkaido’s annual Snow Festival and has since become the inspiration for a new illustrated design every year, with each version created by a different artist through fan participation.

The figure forms part of a major initiative first announced on June 21, 2026, when TAITO revealed that its premium AMP+ prize figure series would release a new line of figures based on 14 legacy Snow Miku designs, utlizing fresh illustrations created by 14 artists who have helped shape the character’s history over the years.

Rather than focusing on a single version of Snow Miku, the project aims to turn a wide range of fan-favorite seasonal designs as high-quality prize figures, with each release aiming to encapsulate the unique artistic style of its newly created original illustration.

Leading the new line of figures is Snow Miku 2012, based on a new illustration created by Kani Beam, who has reimagined the original design with all new adorable elements.

The figure carefully recreates the artwork with a faithful sculpt that captures both the soft expression and distinctive elements of Kani Beam’s illustration.

Special attention has been given to Snow Miku’s flowing twin tails, which use clear plastic parts combined with printed snowflake detailing to recreate the delicate icy patterns found in the original artwork.

Her winter outfit has also been reproduced with impressive attention to detail and another highlight are the adorable pair of shimaenaga, a type of long-tailed tit bird native to Japan’s Hokkaido prefecture.

Additional sculpted details, including the gloss effect applied to Snow Miku’s long boots, further enhance the premium finish of the figure despite it being a prize figure that may not typically feature such elements.

The figure is completed with a custom snowflake-shaped base that complements the winter theme while providing a unique display option for collectors.

The unveiling of Snow Miku 2012 offers the first glimpse at what promises to become one of Taito’s most ambitious long-running projects, with 13 additional historical Snow Miku AMP+ designs still waiting to be revealed over the coming months.

The AMP+ Snow Miku 2012 prize figure from TAITO is expected to be released in September 2026, initially via amusement centers and arcades across Japan.

International fans can expect the figure to arrive with reputable hobby goods retailers/anime stores in around November 2026, as TAITO now issues a wider global release of the majority of prize figures on a slight time delay in comparison to the original Japanese arcade release.
