Hatsune Miku to cover classic Gundam theme songs for new limited edition album
A special new tribute album has been announced as part of the ongoing “Gundam 45th Anniversary x Hatsune Miku” collaboration project.
The new album is titled “GUNDAM×MIKU Special Tribute Songs” and will feature the world-famous virtual singer Hatsune Miku covering classic songs from the Gundam franchise.
The Gundam 45th Anniversary project is a large-scale collaboration between the iconic mecha franchise and the global pop icon, Hatsune Miku.
It has led to a wide range of collaborative events and merchandise, which has included sought-after crossover figures between Miku and Gundam series 00 Gundam and Gundam Wing, created by the popular manufacturer MegaHouse.
The album will feature 12 select “famous songs” from Gundam history, newly arranged and covered by various Vocaloid producers.
It’s possible that these will include some of the songs that Hatsune Miku performed at the Hatsune Miku x GUNDAM METAVERSE live concert earlier this year, which featured covers of the following Gundam themes:
- Fly! Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam)
- FLYING IN THE SKY (Mobile Fighter G Gundam)
- JUST COMMUNICATION (Gundam Wing)
It will also include a brand-new original song for the collaboration, “Idol Senshi,” created by the popular Vocaloid producer Mitchie M.
The 13 song album will be available in two versions.
The Limited Edition will come in a deluxe slipcase and include an exclusive microfiber handkerchief featuring the collaboration art.
Both the Limited Edition and the Regular Edition will use the special collaboration illustration for the jacket art and include a first-press bonus card.
Several retailers will also offer exclusive pre-order bonuses, which are planned to use the main jacket artwork.

These bonuses are available for both the limited and regular editions and will be offered until supplies last.
The “GUNDAM×MIKU Special Tribute Songs” album is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
The Limited Edition is priced at 4,510 yen (approx. $29.29 USD / £22.28 GBP), and the Regular Edition is priced at 3,410 yen (approx. $22.15 USD / £16.84 GBP).
