Takara Tomy has announced that pre-orders are now open for a new Tomica replica model of a real-life Hatsune Miku themed racing car.

This release stems from the “Hatsune Miku GT Project,” a motorsports initiative operating under the concept of “a racing team that drives with its fans.”

This project, which began in 2008, sees the virtual idol Hatsune Miku serving as a mascot for the Good Smile Racing team, with her design updated annually and featured both on their vehicles and across a range of merchandise, including Good Smile Company’s very own Nendoroid range.

The Good Smile Racing team, backed by fan support through a personal sponsorship system, competes in Japan’s premier motorsports series, SUPER GT, in the GT300 class.

The team is also sponsored by other popular brands including Tomica, POP MART, FuRyu and amusement arcade giant GiGO, who announced their sponsorship earlier in 2025.

The 2024 version of the Hatsune Miku AMG racing car, featuring a design by illustrator Mogumo, is the basis for this new Tomica model.

The new “Tomica Premium Racing” model aims to faithfully reproduce the aesthetics of the 2024 Hatsune Miku AMG race car.

Known for their detailed die-cast models, the “Tomica Premium Racing” line offers collectors and fans a high-quality replica of the actual vehicle at a relatively affordable price.

The model is scheduled for release on July 19th, with a retail price of ¥1,980 (tax included).

Pre-orders for the miniature car are currently being accepted through official channels, including the Takara Tomy Mall online store.
