Gundam 00 and GQuuuuuuX to star in new GUNDAM CONVERGE figure series
BANDAI has revealed the lineup for the next wave of “FW GUNDAM CONVERGE” mini figures.
The 28th wave is set to feature a total of seven different figures and will offer a selection of mobile suits from various Gundam series, including a ground breaking combinable duo.
The “FW GUNDAM CONVERGE” series is known among collectors for its unique approach to mobile suit figures.
These approximately 5.5 cm (over 2 inches) tall figures present a super-deformed (SD) style, yet maintain impressively detailed.
Each figure typically comes with a display base and a piece of soda-flavored gum, combining the joy of collecting with a small treat.
Despite their compact size, “GUNDAM CONVERGE” figures often feature limited articulation, primarily in the head, arms, and wrists.
A major highlight of this 28th lineup is the inclusion of the 00 Gundam and 0 Raiser from the second season of “Mobile Suit Gundam 00”.
“Mobile Suit Gundam 00” which aired from 2007 to 2009, introduced a new alternate universe timeline to the Gundam franchise, focusing on the efforts of the private military organization Celestial Being to eradicate war.
The 00 Gundam is the powerful twin-drive protagonist mobile suit piloted by Setsuna F. Seiei, while the 0 Raiser is its dedicated support fighter.
These two figures can be combined to form the 00 Raiser, mirroring their in-anime transformation.
The GN Sword III, a powerful beam sword/rifle combination weapon that accompanied the 0 Raiser, will also be included and can be equipped by the combined 00 Raiser figure.
In addition to “Mobile Suit Gundam 00”, the lineup will also feature units from the recent “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” anime.
The “G Frame FA 08” series will include the “White Gundam,” an important mobile suit in the “GQuuuuuuX” narrative, as well as two variants of the iconic Zaku mobile suit: “Char’s Zaku (GQ)” and a standard “Zaku (GQ)”.
From the popular OVA (Original Video Animation) series “Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory”, two Earth Federation Forces general-purpose mobile suits will be joining the collection: the “GM Custom” and the “GM Quell.”
“Mobile Suit Gundam 0083” was released in 1991 and serves as a bridge between the original “Mobile Suit Gundam” and “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam” animes detailing the rise of the Titans faction and the theft of a nuclear-equipped Gundam.
The GM Custom is an enhanced version of the standard GM, developed as part of the Federation’s post-One Year War reconstruction, while the GM Quell is a later, more advanced iteration, often associated with the Titans.
The complete lineup for “FW GUNDAM CONVERGE #28” includes:
- 00 Gundam
- 0 Raiser
- White Gundam
- Char’s Zaku (GQ)
- Zaku (GQ)
- GM Custom
- GM Quell
Pre-orders for full sets of “FW GUNDAM CONVERGE #28” are now being accepted on Premium Bandai and other retailers.
Ordering a full set does require purchasing a full box of 10 figures.
A full box will be guaranteed to contain all types of figures available, but there will be some duplicates present, as is always the case for candy toy releases where a full box contains a greater quantity than there are types of figures in the set.
The figures are planned for general release in supermarket candy toy sections and convenience stores in November 2025.
