"GQuuuuuuX" debuts in Bandai’s GUNDAM CONVERGE figure series

Bandai has revealed the latest installment in its popular “FW GUNDAM CONVERGE” candy toy figure series.

Priced at 693 yen each, this collection features a compact yet highly detailed lineup of Mobile Suits from across the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.

Notable inclusions in this set, the 27th “FW GUNDAM CONVERGE”, are the Gundam GQuuuuuuX (Sieg Axe) and the Gundam SEED FREEDOM version of the Z’Gok.

The inclusion of the Gundam GQuuuuuuX in this series follows Bandai kicking off a new prize figure range with statues of the GQuuuuuuX and Red Gundam, as well as the addition of the GQuuuuuuX to their GUNDAM UNIVERSE action figure line.

The “FW GUNDAM CONVERGE” series is a long-running line of collectible “candy toys”.

“Candy toys” are a type of Japanese collectible that typically come with a piece of soda-flavored candy or gum.

These figures are known for their distinctive “super deformed” (SD) proportions, where Mobile Suits are rendered with oversized heads and smaller bodies.

This balance of cute proportions and accurate details has made them highly popular among Gundam fans and collectors, offering an affordable way to collect a wide array of mobile suits without requiring significant display space.

This 27th iteration of the series includes the following mobile suits that span multiple Gundam timelines and titles:

GQuuuuuuX

Making its debut in the CONVERGE series, the Gundam GQuuuuuuX (aka Gundam Sieg Axe) is featured in the currently airing Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX series.

Z’Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.)

This variant of the classic amphibious Z’Gok Mobile Suit comes from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, the recently released film that continues the Cosmic Era storyline.

Char’s High Mobility Zaku II

A legendary Mobile Suit piloted by the iconic Char Aznable, this version comes from Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island.

This film, released in 2022, provided a cinematic reimagining of a notoriously poorly animated Mobile Suit Gundam episode.

Gundam Sandrock

One of the five primary Gundams from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Gundam Sandrock is recognizable by its large shield and curved sword.

Gelgoog Cannon

Originating from the Mobile Suit Gundam MSV (Mobile Suit Variations) line, the Gelgoog Cannon is a heavy-firepower variant of the standard Gelgoog.

Gelgoog Cannon (Johnny Ridden’s)

This specific variant of the Gelgoog Cannon belongs to Johnny Ridden, a prominent ace pilot from the Universal Century timeline known as the “Crimson Lightning”.

Each “FW GUNDAM CONVERGE #27” package contains one pre-painted, partially assembled mini-figure and a piece of soda-flavored gum.

The line’s consistent quality and the strategic inclusion of both new and classic Mobile Suits will make this latest release will a popular pick-up for Gundam collectors at hobby stores and convenience stores across Japan from June 2nd, 2025.
