Golden Kamuy’s “Sapporo Beer Factory Arc” to be released as two films before final season airs in 2026

A two-part theatrical release for the anime series Golden Kamuy has been announced, which will serve as a prelude to the upcoming final season of the show.
The new theatrical event will adapt the “Sapporo Beer Factory Arc” from the original manga by Satoru Noda.

Golden Kamuy is a series that blends action, adventure, history, and dark humor, telling the story of a high-stakes survival competition for a hidden cache of Ainu gold in early 20th-century Japan.

This new theatrical release will bridge the gap between the previous season and the final TV season, which is scheduled to begin broadcasting in January of 2026.

The “Sapporo Beer Factory Arc” sees the protagonists Saichi Sugimoto and Asirpa, alongside their companion Yoshitake Shiraishi, resume their quest for the gold after returning from Sakhalin.

They join forces with the escaped convict and pirate, Boutarou, to track down another convict in Sapporo.

There, they find themselves in a multi-factional conflict, clashing with scouts from the 7th Division, including First Lieutenant Usami and Sergeant Kikuta, as well as the faction led by the legendary samurai, Hijikata Toshizo.

The announcement of the two films coincides with a real-life collaboration campaign between Golden Kamuy and Sapporo Beer, which has seen the release of special themed beer cans within Japan.

A new theme song for the theatrical release has also been announced, titled “Ougon no Kanata.”
The song is a collaboration between the prominent female rapper Awich and the multi-national music project ALI.
A promotional teaser video using an instrumental version of the new theme song has been released.
To celebrate the announcement, a social media campaign is being held to invite fans to the opening day stage greeting for the first film.

Fans can enter a lottery to win one of 50 pairs of tickets by following the official Golden Kamuy X account and posting a celebratory message with the designated hashtag.

The stage greeting will feature a large panel of the show’s main voice actors, including Chikahiro Kobayashi (Saichi Sugimoto), Haruka Shiraishi (Asirpa), Kentaro Ito (Yoshitake Shiraishi), Jouji Nakata (Hijikata Toshizo), and Tomokazu Seki (Boutarou).

The social media contest began on July 16th and will run until July 23rd.
Advance tickets for the theatrical release will go on sale on July 18th.

The first part of the Golden Kamuy “Sapporo Beer Factory Arc” is scheduled for theatrical release on Friday, October 10th, with the second part following on Friday, October 31st.
The opening day stage greeting event is scheduled to be held on Sunday, October 12th.
