Giant “DORO” balloons to appear in New York and Osaka for NIKKE summer event
Level Infinite has announced a new real-world event for its popular mobile game, Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.
The “DORO FAMILY SUMMER TOUR,” will be a short-term promotional campaign held in a number of cities across the world.
The tour is set to kick of shortly, with the first events set to take place in Osaka’s Dotonbori district and at New York’s Hudson River.
The Osaka event will be called “HELLO, AMAZING, DORO TOUR”, whilst the New York event will go by the name “DORO FLOWS, HUDSON KNOWS!”.
NIKKE is a mobile RPG known for its “gun girl” characters and its third-person, cover-based shooting gameplay, which prominently features the characters’ backs.
This latest announcement comes as NIKKE continues to expand its visibility and presence within Japan, which has led to the opening of a MEGA NIKKE STORE in Kyoto.
The summer tour’s theme is centered around “DORO,” a popular and mischievous chibi-style meme character that originated from within the game’s community and has since been embraced by the developers.
The centerpiece of the event will be a giant inflatable balloon of the DORO character, which will be put on display over the Dotonbori Canal and Hudson River.
Attendees at both events will have the opportunity to take commemorative photos with official NIKKE character cosplayers at a designated photo spot.
The Osaka event plans also include a special performance by someone in a DORO mascot costume on a boat traveling along the Dotonbori canal.
To create an immersive atmosphere, both banks of the famous canal will be lined with advertisements for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE for the duration of the event.
This real-world activation brings the digital world of the game and its fan culture into a famous public space for a brief, high-impact promotion.
“HELLO, AMAZING, DORO TOUR” is scheduled to take place over a single weekend in Osaka, running from Saturday, the 19th of July, to Sunday, the 20th of July, 2025.
The “DORO FLOWS, HUDSON KNOWS!” New York event will take place on Friday, the 18th of July and Saturday, the 19th of July, 2025.
