Genshin Impact taiyaki returns to arcades across Japan
If you love Genshin Impact but weren’t quite tempted by the Genshin Impact x KFC collaboration, then you may be in luck, as a sweeter collaboration is on its way.
The third round of “Genshin Yaki”, a collaboration between MiHoYo and GiGO arcades is set to launch on the 26th of October, with taiyaki shaped like Genshin Impact characters to go on sale across Japan.
Taiyaki are a fish shaped cake which are often sold as a quick and convenient street food, often featuring a sweet filling.
Common fillings for taiyaki include traditional red bean paste and some more modern interpretations feature fillings such as cheese.
When GENDA GiGO took over SEGA’s arcade business, they also took ownership of the SEGA Taiyaki branches that could often be found attached to more popular arcade locations.
Now named GiGO Taiyaki, they will be serving the Genshin Yaki collaboration from the 26th of October until the 6th of December.
This is the 3rd time the chain has teamed up with MiHoYo to create a line of Genshin Yaki, with the latest line-up featuring characters Alhaitham, Kaveh, and Tighnari, as well as Dori, Nahida, and Nilou.
Six GiGO Taiyaki locations across Japan will sell the Genshin Yaki, with stores in Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo and Fukuoka all set to take part:
- GiGO Taiyaki Akihabara
- GiGO Ikebukuro Main Store
- GiGO Taiyaki Ikebukuro 3rd Building
- GiGO Taiyaki COCONO SUSUKINO
- GiGO Osaka Dotonbori Main Store
- GiGO Taiyaki Fukuoka
The Genshin Yaki will be priced at 500 yen and will be available in both chocolate and cream flavours.
For each Genshin Yaki purchased you’ll also be provided with a randomly selected original coaster, featuring one of 12 Genshin Impact characters.
