G Gundam’s Mandala Gundam finally gets a new HG Gunpla kit

A new, exclusive Gunpla kit has been announced, featuring the first-ever modern High Grade release of the Mandala Gundam.
The Mandala Gundam is one of the most unique and unconventional mobile fighters from the classic 1994 anime series, Mobile Fighter G Gundam.

Representing Neo-Nepal in the Gundam Fight, the machine is famous for its design, which is based on a “tsurigane,” or a Japanese temple bell.

This new High Grade (HG) 1/144 scale model kit is a completely new sculpt that faithfully recreates the mobile fighter’s strange and iconic appearance.

The kit features a number of modern engineering elements and gimmicks.
Its unique, bead-like arms and waist are flexible, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses.

The model can also be transformed into its defensive, bell-shaped mode by swapping some of its parts.
This transformation is a brand-new, “HG original gimmick” that was conceived by the G Gundam anime’s original director, Yasuhiro Imagawa.

A variety of accessories are included, such as its signature “shakujō” staff, which comes with multiple effect parts.

This new Gunpla kit also includes a special, flowing scarf part and a set of eight “Mini Mandala Gundam” figures.

These mini-figures can be displayed with effect parts to create a dynamic attack scene, or they can be attached to the main body of the mobile fighter.

As a Premium Bandai exclusive, this kit will not be available through general retail channels.

Pre-orders for the new “HG 1/144 Mandala Gundam” opened earlier today on the Premium Bandai online store, and it is priced at ¥2,915 (approx. $20 USD/£15 GBP).
It is scheduled to be shipped to customers in November 2025.
