Fan favorite Gundam Wing Gunpla kit gets its first re-release in four years

A highly sought-after Gundam Wing Master Grade (MG) Gunpla kit is set to be re-released later this year.
The re-release will see the MG 1/100 Tallgeese Flügel EW model kit available for purchase again, four years after its initial release in October 2021.

The Master Grade (MG) series of Gunpla, first introduced in 1995, is celebrated by model kit enthusiasts for its 1/100 scale, which translates to figures typically around 18 cm tall.
MG kits are known for their exceptional detail, intricate internal frames, and advanced articulation, as well as often including additional accessories and decals.

They provide a more challenging and rewarding build experience compared to the simpler High Grade (HG) kits.
The Tallgeese Flügel EW is a mobile suit featured in the “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz: Glory of the Losers” manga.

This manga series serves as a retelling of the original “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing” anime, incorporating additional details and elements from supplementary materials and side-stories.
The original Gundam Wing series is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary and has seen several new products released as part of this event, including new Wing Zero and Heero Yuy figures.

The Tallgeese itself is an iconic mobile suit within the Gundam Wing universe, serving as the precursor to the five Gundams and famously piloted by Zechs Merquise.
The MG Tallgeese Flügel EW kit stands out with a significant array of newly molded parts that differentiate it from the standard MG 1/100 Tallgeese EW, while retaining the same robust core frame.

These new components include an entirely new head unit, specifically featuring a unique flame-style head crest.

The wing binders, a prominent feature of this variant, are also newly molded.
Their structure differs from those found on the Wing Gundam Zero Custom EW, another iconic mobile suit from “Endless Waltz” known for its angelic wings.

These wing binders are embedded with an eagle emblem, similar to the symbol seen on the Tallgeese’s shoulder shield.
The Flügel’s binders are characterized by harder edges and the inclusion of a yellow accent unique to this unit, contributing to its distinct aesthetic.

In terms of weaponry, the Tallgeese Flügel EW is equipped with exclusive armaments: the distinctive heat lance and heat halberd.
These weapons were newly molded for this kit and feature a variety of color separations, enhancing their visual appeal straight out of the box.

The heat lance can also be securely attached to the round shield, providing better stability during posing and display.
To complete the model and enhance its overall presence, the kit includes water slide decals.
These decals were designed by Hajime Katoki, a renowned mechanical designer in the Gundam franchise, famous for his “Ver. Ka” (Version Katoki) Gunpla designs.

The detailed marking scheme created by the decals adds a realistic, military-style aesthetic to the finished model.
While applying water slide decals is more involved than traditional stickers, it results in a much more seamless, painted-on look, which is highly valued by experienced builders.

The reissue of this particular kit is exclusive to Premium Bandai and will only be available in the U.S.
P-Bandai is Bandai’s exclusive online storefront, known for offering limited-edition Gunpla kits that are not typically available through standard retail channels.
A potential re-release in other regions has not yet been confirmed.
Pre-orders for the MG 1/100 Tallgeese Flügel EW are now open and can be placed via Premium Bandai whilst stocks last.
It is currently priced at $84 USD, and pre-orders are scheduled to begin shipping to customers in December 2025.
