Exclusive cards and storage boxes to be given out at Gundam Card Game Booster Pack events
A series of nationwide release events are set to be held to mark the release of the Gundam Card Game’s first Booster Pack set.
Participants at these in-store events will receive exclusive gifts, including special “Unicorn Gundam (Unicorn Mode)” and “Banagher Links” cards, along with a themed storage box.
The Unicorn Gundam, piloted by Banagher Links, is the iconic protagonist Mobile Suit from Mobile Suit Gundam UC (Unicorn), a highly popular OVA series known for its stunning animation and dramatic story.
The Gundam Card Game represents Bandai’s ambitious foray into creating a unified global trading card game that spans the entire Gundam franchise.
Following the initial release of its Starter Decks (ST01-ST04) in July, the launch of the “Newtype Rising” Booster Pack set (GD01) will mark the first opportunity for players to expand their card collections with a wider variety of units and strategies.
Booster packs are crucial for the long-term engagement of any TCG, introducing new cards, archetypes, and competitive meta-games.
These release events are designed to generate excitement around the booster pack launch and provide a communal space for players to experience the new cards.
By holding events at stores nationwide, Bandai aims to provide accessible opportunities for both new and experienced players to engage with the Gundam Card Game.
Event Details
- Event Period: July 26, 2025 (Saturday) – August 10, 2025 (Sunday).
- Location: Scheduled to be held at participating Gundam Card Game stores across Japan.
- Participation Gifts: All participants will receive a “Link Unit Set” featuring a special GD01-005 Unicorn Gundam (Unicorn Mode) card and a GD01-088 Banagher Links card.
- Commemorative Item: Attendees will also receive a themed Storage Box, a practical item for organizing and protecting their growing card collections.
To participate in these booster pack release events, players must apply in advance through the BANDAI TCG+ application.
Applications are currently open but will close seven days before the event at each respective store.
BANDAI TCG+ is a dedicated mobile application developed by Bandai to streamline the entire process of participating in its trading card game events.
From applying for tournaments and daily event sign-ups to submitting match results, the app consolidates various administrative functions into a single, convenient platform.
The launch of these booster pack release events, coupled with other events celebrating the release of the card games Starter Decks or giving out exclusive promo cards, is part of Bandai’s strategy to ensure that the Gundam Card Game becomes a viable pastime for Gundam and card game enthusiasts.
