Evangelion Racing’s EVA-01 themed support vehicle gets Tomica replica
Tomica, the popular die-cast toy car brand, is releasing a model of an Evangelion themed support vehicle used by the real-life Evangelion Racing motorsports team.
Evangelion Racing is a racing team formed through a promotional tie-up with the Rebuild of Evangelion film series.
Established in 2010, the team has competed in various prominent motorsports events, including SUPER GT, Super Taikyu, D1 Grand Prix, FORMULA DRIFT JAPAN, and the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race.
Their racing machines, notably featuring the iconic purple and green coloring of Eva Unit-01 from the anime, consistently draw attention.
The team also features race ambassadors modeled after popular characters like Rei, Asuka, and Mari.
The new Tomica model is based on the actual “Eva RT Unit-01 Toyota Hiace” support vehicle used by Evangelion Racing at competition venues and various events across Japan in 2024.
The miniature version boasts a meticulous finish, with detailed graphics accurately reproduced using UV printing.
Maintaining Tomica’s core appeal, the model offers smooth running performance with just a light push, making it suitable for children and appealing to adult collectors with its level of detail.
The “Eva RT Unit-01 Toyota Hiace” Tomica is priced at ¥1,400 (tax included). Its release is currently scheduled for between early October and late November 2025.
Pre-orders for this new vehicle began on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, via the EVANGELION STORE.
Direct purchases will also be available at merchandise booths at racing categories where Evangelion Racing participates (including SUPER Taikyu and FORMULA DRIFT in 2025) and other automotive events held at various circuits nationwide.
