Epic Games Publishing and genDESIGN Unveil gen ATLAS

Developer genDESIGN and publisher Epic Games Publishing officially announced gen ATLAS as the title of their new open world action adventure game on June 5, 2026.
The project marks the latest creation from Fumito Ueda, who is widely recognized for directing acclaimed titles such as ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian.
Scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via the Epic Games Store, the game invites players to explore a silent and abandoned planet filled with colossal structures and deserted facilities.
The narrative follows a protagonist who awakens on this mysterious world to discover the remnants of a grand design scattered across endless plains and shifting seas.
Gameplay centers on a single player experience where encountering a massive robot with overwhelming power serves as a pivotal moment for progression.
This mechanical giant allows players to access previously unreachable areas, effectively changing their understanding of the environment as ancient constructs begin to move again.
The announcement was accompanied by a reveal trailer showcasing the atmospheric setting during the Summer Game Fest 2026 events.
This partnership with Epic Games Publishing follows a 2020 agreement intended to fund genDESIGN’s next major title while allowing the studio to retain full creative control and intellectual property rights.
