Demon Slayer taxis to appear across Tokyo this summer

Tokyo-based taxi operator Daiwa Motor Transportation has partnered with the ride-hailing service S.RIDE for a new promotional campaign centered on the anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
The collaboration celebrates the upcoming nationwide theatrical release of the film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Infinity Castle Arc Part 1.

The film’s upcoming release has led to a number of collaborations, including new apparel from both UNIQLO and Crocs.

As part of the campaign, a fleet of eight taxis has been decorated with special wraps, each featuring a different main character from the immensely popular series.

The characters showcased include the protagonist, Tanjiro Kamado, as well as several of the high-ranking Demon Slayer Corps members known as the Hashira.

These specially designed vehicles will operate for a limited time within the Tokyo metropolitan area.
A key feature of the promotion is its integration with the S.RIDE mobile app, a service used for hailing taxis.
During the campaign period, the app’s map will display the real-time locations of the eight wrapped taxis, each represented by a unique character icon.

Users of the app will have the ability to specifically select and hail one of the Demon Slayer taxis for their ride.
The collaboration extends to the in-car experience as well.
Vehicles equipped with the “GROWTH” rear-seat digital signage system will play an exclusive commercial.
This special video features the four main voice actors from the anime series: Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro), Akari Kitō (Nezuko), Hiro Shimono (Zenitsu), and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Inosuke).

The in-car commercial has a shorter run time than the overall vehicle campaign, playing for passengers from the 8th of July until the 27th of July.
A social media contest is also being held to support the event.
Participants who follow the official S.RIDE account on the social media platform X and repost the campaign announcement will be entered into a draw to win one of three posters signed by Tanjiro’s voice actor, Natsuki Hanae.

The eight wrapped taxis began operating on Tuesday, the 8th of July.

The campaign, including the vehicle operation and the social media contest, is scheduled to run until Monday, the 11th of August.
The new Demon Slayer film is set to be released in theaters nationwide on Friday, the 18th of July.
