Demo Announced for High-Speed Kunai Platformer INARI
South Korean development team 1HP STUDIO has officially announced their newest project, INARI, a pixel art “high-speed kunai action platformer.”
The game is slated for release on PC via Steam, promising an intense experience inspired by highly-rated titles such as Katana ZERO, Nine Sols, Celeste, and Ghostrunner.
Eager players will not have long to wait for a glimpse into the action, as a playable demo for INARI is set to launch on January 13.
This demo release will coincide with the start of a Kickstarter funding campaign, allowing the developers to engage with their community and secure resources for the game’s completion.
INARI is set within an Eastern fantasy world where players take on the role of Izna the Reaper, an executioner dispatched by the mighty Lord himself.
As the Divine authority of the High Realm struggles against the advancing technology of the Mortal Realm, the ensuing conflict pulls the two worlds toward a massive war. The Lord sends Izna, his chosen executioner, to restore order in this fractured reality.
While the Lord’s dominion is fracturing, seven princesses, collectively known as the Seven Daughters, rise in open defiance.
Izna’s mission is to eliminate the Seven Daughters and reclaim their souls, acting as an enforcer where “justice is not for you to question. Only the order matters.”
The gameplay centers on “Lightning-Fast Kunai Combat” where players must master kunai throws and utilize instant teleportation to control space and momentum on the battlefield.
The mechanics encourage chaining attacks and repositioning in a split second to carve through enemy formations without hesitation.
A core challenge of the platformer is facing overwhelming odds with only a single life, emphasizing high-risk, high-reward gameplay in rapid, relentless combat.
