Dates revealed for Tokyo Game Show 2026 as organisers look towards expansion

The official dates have been announced for the “Tokyo Game Show 2026,” and the event is set to be expanded to a total of five days.
This new, longer schedule was first teased during the opening ceremony of the 2025 event.

The show will now feature three “public days,” which are open to the general public, an increase from the usual two.
These will be preceded by two “business days,” which are for industry and media attendees only.

Final attendance figures for the “Tokyo Game Show 2025,” which took place between the 25th and 28th of September, have also been released by the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA).

The total number of visitors for the four-day event was 263,101.
This is a decrease of approximately 10,000 attendees compared to the 2024 event.
However, the number of exhibitors at this year’s show was a new, record high.

A total of 1,136 different companies and organizations from 47 different countries and regions participated in the event, surpassing last year’s record.

This indicates a continued, strong and growing interest in the event from the global games industry.
The “Tokyo Game Show 2026” will once again be held at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba.

The five-day event is scheduled to run from Thursday, the 17th of September, to Monday, the 21st of September, 2026.
