Akatsuki Games has announced that its action RPG “TRIBE NINE” will be shutting down its service just 9 months after the game’s official launch.

“TRIBE NINE” was a collaborative project between Akatsuki Games and Too Kyo Games, billing itself as a challenging action RPG with a unique “death game” element.

The game featured a world meticulously crafted by the creative team behind the acclaimed “Danganronpa” series, promising a bizarre and exciting story centered around a cast of young characters brought to life with a distinctive art style.

A service termination notice was posted on the game’s official channels on May 15th, 2025.

In the statement, Akatsuki Games explained the decision, stating, “After careful consideration regarding the future provision of services, we have unfortunately come to the decision to end the service.”

The announcement comes a mere nine months after the game’s official launch on February 20th, 202 and the swift conclusion of the game’s lifecycle will undoubtedly come as a disappointment to its player base.

Akatsuki Games has directed players to the official “TRIBE NINE” website for detailed information regarding the schedule for future updates and content, the handling of unreleased characters, and the cessation of paid in-game item sales.

The rapid end of service for “TRIBE NINE” raises questions about the game’s performance and reception since its launch.

While the initial premise and creative team generated anticipation, the short lifespan suggests that the game may not have resonated with a large enough audience to sustain its ongoing operation.

Players who invested time and potentially money in “TRIBE NINE” will likely be keen to understand the specifics of the service closure and any potential compensation or support being offered by Akatsuki Games.
