Crossbone Gundam’s Best Official Premium Figure Gets Limited Time US Re-Release
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has brought one of Crossbone Gundam’s most impressive premium collector figures back to the US, with the heavily armed X1 Half Cloth returning as part of a major limited-time promotional event.
The “METAL BUILD CROSSBONE GUNDAM X1 HALF CLOTH (KINKEDO CUSTOM)” joins a large selection of exclusive Gunpla kits, figures, and other collectibles returning for Premium Bandai Week 2026, which also offers a temporary reduction to the usual free-shipping threshold.

Crossbone Gundam X1 Half Cloth originates from “Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: The First X,” a special one-shot manga by Yuichi Hasegawa published in 2024 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam.

The story takes place before the events of the original manga and explores the early rivalry between Kinkedo Nau and Zabine Chareux, including the duel that leads to Kinkedo joining the Crossbone Vanguard.

For the encounter, Kinkedo equips his Crossbone Gundam X1 with additional armor on its left side and a powerful new weapon on its right arm, creating the distinctive Half Cloth configuration.

Bandai first revealed the design as part of its METAL BUILD collection at TAMASHII NATION 2024, with the completed figure subsequently receiving its original Japanese release in June 2025.

Standing approximately 18 cm tall, the figure features a combination of ABS, PVC and die-cast metal components, with extensive articulation and a glossy white and dark blue finish inspired by the Mobile Suit’s appearance in Hasegawa’s original artwork.

The main feature is its removable Full Cloth armor, which can be attached over the left shoulder to recreate the Half Cloth configuration seen in the anniversary manga.

Additional armor pieces are also included for the right shoulder, chest, and collar, allowing collectors to equip the figure with a complete Full Cloth configuration.

The armor retains its built-in Heat Cutters, while the removable components can also be fitted to the separately sold METAL BUILD Crossbone Gundam X2 figure.

Another major feature is the enormous High Beam Blaster, which connects to an additional generator mounted on the right shoulder through a flexible power cable.

The weapon includes opening sections and an additional grip for two-handed firing poses, alongside oversized translucent beam effects that can extend well past the height of the figure itself.
A dedicated support system is included to help display the weapon with its largest effects attached, allowing collectors to recreate the powerful attacks depicted in the manga.

The weapon’s modular effects can also be rearranged to create shorter beam blades and other attack configurations.

Additional equipment includes the Beam Zanber, Buster Gun, Beam Sabers, Scissor Anchors, Brand Markers, and Heat Daggers, with interchangeable hands and a detachable Core Fighter providing further display options.

Other Crossbone Gundam releases have also recently returned to the US, including the exclusive “MG 1/100 Crossbone Gundam X2 Custom Ver.Ka,” which recreates Zabine Chareux’s rebuilt Mobile Suit with its distinctive black and violet armor and enlarged rear thrusters.
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai followed that release with another US pre-order run for the “MG 1/100 Crossbone Gundam X3 Ver.Ka,” based on Tobia Arronax’s machine from the original manga, complete with its forearm-mounted I-Field generators and enormous Muramasa Blaster.
