Chainsmoker Cat Set for July Release as New Key Visual Revealed

The official website for the upcoming Chainsmoker Cat anime has announced that the series will premiere on Japanese television on July 2, 2026.
The broadcast is scheduled for 24:30 JST on TOKYO MX and BS11, which effectively means the first episode will air at 0:30 on July 3, 2026.
Along with the release date, production staff shared a new key visual and revealed six additional cast members joining the production.
The cast features Yuko Natsuyoshi as the lead character Yaniko, Misato Matsuoka as Yakuneko, and Yurie Funato as Hameneko.


Other cast members include Ayaka Shimizu voicing Kansaineko, Shiori Izawa as Aruneko, Riko Akechi as Ochinpo Tatsuro, and Tetsu Inada as the Landlord.




Taku Kimura is directing the project at Bilbury Animation Studios, while Takashi Aoshima is handling the scripts.
Riki Matsuura is responsible for the character designs and Keiichi Suzuki is composing the music for the series.
The anime is based on the comedy manga by Nyan Nyan Factory, which is published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.

The story follows the daily life of Yani, a catgirl struggling with a severe smoking habit, unemployment, and unpaid rent.
While her friends and sister attempt to support her, Yani frequently fails to overcome her cravings and remains a chainsmoking slob.
