Bleach’s Official High School AU Returns as “Don’t Bleach My Fist II” Novel Confirmed
Bleach’s chaotic high school alternate universe is officially returning for another round, with Shueisha confirming that author Ryohgo Narita is working on a second DON’T BLEACH MY FIST novel following the release of the first book earlier this year.
DON’T BLEACH MY FIST was released in Japan on June 4, 2026 as a 256-page JUMP j BOOKS novel, with Tite Kubo credited for the original work and Narita handling the story.
Narita is already well known among Bleach fans for turning parts of Kubo’s world into much larger prose stories, and DON’T BLEACH MY FIST II offers him the chance to approach the cast from a far less serious angle than the battles and political conflicts usually associated with the franchise’s novels.
DON’T BLEACH MY FIST II is being developed as part of Bleach’s ongoing 25th anniversary projects and once again takes inspiration from artwork originally created by series creator Tite Kubo.
Bleach began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2001, following Ichigo Kurosaki after an encounter with Rukia Kuchiki gives him the powers of a Soul Reaper and draws him into conflicts spanning the Human World, Soul Society and several other realms.
DON’T BLEACH MY FIST takes those familiar characters in a completely different direction, replacing supernatural warfare with a school-based delinquent story built around rival students, brawls and exaggerated versions of the relationships seen throughout the original manga.
The idea began as an April Fools’ project before Narita expanded it into a full novel, with the first volume placing Ichigo as a new student at Gotei High School just as powerful fighters from the rival Stern Cross Academy begin closing in on him.
That first story turns Bleach’s factions and characters into competing school groups, setting up an increasingly large conflict that threatens to become a legendary battle across Karakura Town rather than another fight between Soul Reapers, Quincy and Hollows.
The sequel will return to the same unusual concept, with the project specifically drawing inspiration from Tite Kubo’s JET artwork showing Soul Reapers, Arrancar and Quincy dressed in school uniforms.
That wider selection of characters gives Narita plenty of room to expand the school setting beyond the rivalry established in the first book, although Shueisha has yet to reveal which Bleach characters will take center stage or how the next conflict will begin.
Shueisha has not yet announced a release date, price, cover artwork, or full synopsis for DON’T BLEACH MY FIST II, while an English-language edition for either the first book or its sequel has also not been confirmed by VIZ Media at this stage.
