Baskin-Robbins reveals new Minecraft ice cream cake

Baskin-Robbins Japan has announced an exciting new Minecraft-themed cake.
The “Minecraft Ice Cream Cake” marks the first-ever collaboration between Baskin-Robbins and “Minecraft”, one of the best-selling video games of all time.

Minecraft, developed by Mojang Studios, is a sandbox video game that allows players to build virtually anything they can imagine using textured cubes in a procedurally generated 3D world.
Since its full release in 2011, it has become a global cultural phenomenon, known for its creative freedom, endless exploration, and diverse community.

Its blocky aesthetic, distinct characters, and vast open world has become familiar to millions of players across various platforms, from PC to mobile devices and consoles.
The new “Minecraft” collaboration is part of a trend that has seen Baskin-Robbins offer menu items inspired by popular franchises, including One Piece and Super Mario.

The “Minecraft Ice Cream Cake” from Baskin-Robbins is designed to mirror the game’s iconic block-based world.
The cake itself is composed of six individual square ice cream cake pieces.

These pieces are artfully topped with square chocolate plates featuring popular characters and elements from the game.
The cake also comes with a number of character picks that allow you to decorate the cake to your own design, adding an interactive element that mirrors the creative freedom of the game.
Each of the six chocolate plates showcases a different “Minecraft” mob or item, each paired with an ice cream flavor chosen to complement its character’s atmosphere and color:
- Creeper

The notoriously hostile mob known for its explosive encounters with players, is represented by the vibrant Melon Au Lait ice cream on a white sponge base.
Melon Au Lait is a type of melon-flavoured milk drink in Japan, and it is also a popular flavour for yogurts and ice cream.
- Pig

This common passive mob found in the game, is paired with Very Berry Strawberry ice cream on a white sponge.
- Enderman

A neutral mob that teleports and attacks if players make direct eye contact, is represented by Chopped Chocolate ice cream on a chocolate sponge.
- TNT

The powerful block used for explosions in the game, features Popping Shower ice cream on a white sponge, echoing its explosive properties.
- Zombie

This common hostile mob that appears at night or in dark places, is matched with Chocolate x Chocolate Chip ice cream on a chocolate sponge.
- Skeleton

This undead creature is paired with Caramel Ribbon ice cream on a chocolate sponge.
The cake measures approximately 16.5cm in width, 11cm in length, and 5cm in height, making it an ideal size for sharing.
The “Minecraft Ice Cream Cake” is a permanent addition to Baskin-Robbins’ year-round product line-up, which ensures it will be continuously available for fans looking to celebrate a special occasion.

A surprise also awaits after the cake is consumed, as character designs will be revealed on the cake’s base.

The “Minecraft Ice Cream Cake” is set to be released on Thursday, July 17th, 2025, and will be priced at 4,000 yen (approx. $27 USD / £20 GBP).
