Bandai Reveals Massive New Gundam Advance of Z METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Release

TAMASHII NATIONS is expanding its premium METAL ROBOT SPIRITS lineup with a new release inspired by the Advance of Zeta side-story series, bringing the experimental “Prototype Asshimar TR-3 [Kehaar] Space Specification” to collectors in highly detailed form.

Known for combining metallic finishes, intricate engineering, and die-cast construction, the METAL ROBOT SPIRITS range has become a favorite among Gundam fans seeking display pieces that balance durability with screen-accurate design.

The TR-3 Kehaar occupies a unique place within the Advance of Zeta universe as one of the Titans Test Team’s more unusual experimental machines.

Developed during the third phase of the TR Project, the unit originated as a prototype Asshimar that was repurposed to evaluate both the durability of its drum-frame structure and the practicality of its transformation system in space operations.

Unlike conventional mobile suits, the Kehaar dispensed with full armor coverage and replaced its lower body with a specialized assembly of fuel tanks and propulsion systems designed for extended operation beyond Earth’s atmosphere.

A separate atmospheric-use configuration was also developed, allowing the space-focused lower section to be exchanged for thermonuclear-powered leg units when operating under gravity.

The new METAL ROBOT SPIRITS interpretation stands an impressive 27 cm tall, making it one of the larger entries in the series to date.

Its exterior showcases an extensive recreation of the machine’s internal framework, exposed piping, armor panels, and distinctive fuel tank configuration.

Semi-gloss and metallic paint applications have been used throughout the figure to emphasize the mechanical nature of the design while enhancing its visual weight and realism.

Printed markings, including the Titans Test Team’s recognizable rabbit insignia, further contribute to the model’s authentic appearance.

Internally, the figure makes extensive use of die-cast metal across its frame and articulation system, providing both additional heft and increased joint stability.

The engineering also introduces a newly developed transformation mechanism that allows the unit to convert into its Mobile Armor form while preserving the machine’s complex proportions.

In this configuration, the concentration of rear-mounted thrusters highlights the Kehaar’s role as a high-mobility experimental platform capable of rapid acceleration.

The Mobile Suit mode is equally feature-rich, incorporating multiple movable armor sections connected through ball joints and sliding mechanisms to maximize articulation.

The large fuel tanks mounted along the lower body feature die-cast two-axis joints that provide additional movement while maintaining stability.

Deployable support arms positioned on both sides of the fuselage have also been faithfully recreated as part of the figure’s mechanical functionality.

Collectors can additionally equip energy-pack magazines to the outer sides of the fuel tanks, further enhancing display possibilities.

The included Beam Rifle features carefully separated color applications that highlight the weapon’s intricate design details.

A dedicated display stand is supplied with the figure, allowing collectors to showcase both Mobile Suit and Mobile Armor configurations in dynamic poses.

Pre-orders are now available through Premium Bandai for the “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Prototype Asshimar TR-3 [Kehaar] Space Specification,” which is priced at ¥29,700 (approx. $205 USD/£155 GBP) and is scheduled for release in November 2026.
