Bandai Fully Reveals New Gundam SEED FREEDOM Z’Gok METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Figure
Bandai has fully revealed a new METAL ROBOT SPIRITS figure of the Z’Gok from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, recreating one of the movie’s most memorable and unexpected mobile suits with extensive die-cast components and a detailed metallic finish.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM is the theatrical continuation of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, reuniting Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala, Lacus Clyne and other surviving members of the cast during a new conflict set within the Cosmic Era timeline.
Released in Japanese cinemas in January 2024, the movie follows the peacekeeping organization COMPASS as it becomes involved with the Kingdom of Foundation, eventually leading to the return of several familiar pilots and upgraded versions of their signature mobile suits.
Although its exterior closely resembles the amphibious Z’Gok from the original Mobile Suit Gundam, the machine used in SEED FREEDOM is actually a disguise concealing Athrun’s ZGMF-X191M2 Infinite Justice Gundam Type II.
The disguise allows Athrun to operate the nuclear-powered mobile suit covertly, while the outer armor also provides additional protection and conceals the advanced machine until it is needed in battle.
Standing approximately 15 cm tall, the METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Z’Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.) recreates the streamlined outer armor, flexible bellows-style limbs and M2X32E Volantes flight unit seen in the movie.
Subtle mechanical details around the elbows, ankles and rear armor hint at the Infinite Justice Gundam Type II hidden underneath, rewarding fans who look closely at the sculpt from different angles.
The figure uses a combination of rich painted finishes, printed markings and die-cast metal components throughout its main body and joints, giving the compact release a heavier and more mechanical feel.
Pull-out shoulder joints and flexible limb articulation allow the Z’Gok to recreate its aggressive close-combat poses without losing the distinctive shape of its segmented arms and legs.
Its mono-eye can be repositioned, while an interchangeable battle-damaged head section exposes part of the machinery beneath the outer armor to recreate its appearance after taking damage.
The Slashing Fang Claws are produced with die-cast parts and can be exchanged for red versions that recreate their superheated appearance during combat.
The Volantes unit can extend its nose section and transform into flight mode, while its movable wings switch between the Gun Mode and Slashing Mode configurations used during the movie’s action scenes.
Bandai is also releasing the METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Cavalier Aifrid alongside the Z’Gok, providing the support unit required to recreate their combined flight and combat configurations from SEED FREEDOM.
The Cavalier Aifrid is an advanced support craft used by Orb and the Eternal, with the ability to operate independently or dock with compatible mobile suits to provide flight across atmospheric, underwater and space environments.
Its equipment includes beam and projectile weapons, electronic warfare systems and Mirage Colloid technology, while its interior can transport more than ten personnel and function as a compact mobile command center.
Standing approximately 16 cm tall, the METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Cavalier Aifrid recreates the unit’s wide saucer-shaped armor, forward sensors, rear thrusters and densely packed weapon systems with contrasting metallic and semi-gloss finishes.
The Super High-Impulse Cannon and 76 mm autocannon feature movable barrels, while the missile pod hatches can be opened to reveal the red Medium-Range Air-to-Air Guided Missiles stored inside.
Die-cast components support several of the Cavalier’s key joints, helping the unit remain stable when displayed alone or connected to the separately sold Z’Gok.
The METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Z’Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.), priced at ¥20,900 (approx. $133 USD / £98 GBP), will be available to pre-order through Premium Bandai Japan.
The METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Cavalier Aifrid, priced at ¥18,700 (approx. $119 USD / £88 GBP), will also be available through Premium Bandai Japan as a separate release.
Pre-orders for both figures will open in Japan on August 6, 2026, while Bandai is expected to confirm Premium Bandai US
pricing and availability shortly.
The Z’Gok and Cavalier Aifrid are currently scheduled to begin shipping in December 2026.
