Bandai Fully Reveals Gundam X’s New 30th Anniversary Gundam Double X Premium Figure
Bandai has fully revealed its new premium Gundam Double X figure, turning one of After War Gundam X’s most powerful Mobile Suits into an extensively painted METAL ROBOT SPIRITS release for the anime’s 30th anniversary.

Bandai has now confirmed those details, revealing a 15 cm figure that combines die-cast construction with pearl, metallic and plated finishes while allowing the Double X’s complete Twin Satellite Cannon firing sequence to be displayed without replacing parts.
After War Gundam X originally aired in 1996 and is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary through a wider Bandai project that has introduced new merchandise, commemorative releases and even a new sequel manga continuing the story of Garrod Ran and Tiffa Adill.
The Gundam Double X becomes Garrod’s main Mobile Suit later in the original anime, having been secretly developed by the New United Nations Earth using technology and combat data inherited from the GX-9900 Gundam X.
Its biggest upgrade is the Satellite System Mk-II, which replaces the original Gundam X’s single Satellite Cannon with two substantially more powerful cannons mounted across the back.
Bandai has made the weapon system one of the main attractions of the new figure, with extendable cannon barrels alongside independently movable reflector panels, deployable energy radiators and a targeting scope.
All of the components can move directly into their firing positions without exchanging parts, allowing the complete Twin Satellite Cannon configuration to be recreated through the figure’s built-in mechanisms.
The figure represents a considerable upgrade over Bandai’s earlier ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Double X released in 2013, with the new version placing much greater emphasis on metallic materials and detailed surface finishes.
Die-cast components are incorporated throughout areas including the chest, shoulders, elbows, hips, thighs and knees, adding additional weight while strengthening key sections of the articulated frame.
The white armor receives a semi-gloss pearl finish alongside metallic gray detailing, while the energy radiator blades across the arms and legs use highly reflective gold plating.
Bandai has given the large rear reflectors an even more elaborate treatment, using special polarizing foil across their interiors so the gold surfaces reflect different colors as the viewing angle and surrounding light change.
The chest also uses layered clear and silver-painted components around the cockpit hatch, while original markings printed across the body add considerably more surface detail to the Mobile Suit.
Its accessories include the dedicated DX Buster Rifle and Defense Plate alongside interchangeable hands, an alternate antenna, connection parts and a dedicated display stand.
Two Hyper Beam Sword effect parts are also included, allowing Garrod’s dual-wielding attack from Episode 24, “Double X, Activate!”, to be recreated alongside conventional rifle and Twin Satellite Cannon poses.
The head-mounted Machine Cannons also feature independent articulation designed to prevent them from interfering with the head when positioning the figure.
Bandai has been steadily expanding its celebrations for Gundam X’s 30th anniversary, with another recent premium reveal turning the original Gundam X’s iconic G-Controller into a new PROPLICA release.

Japanese pre-orders will open through Premium Bandai’s Tamashii Web Shop at 4:00 PM JST on September 4, 2026, with shipping scheduled for February 2027.
Pre-orders through Premium Bandai US should follow shortly thereafter, though pricing and release date may vary in comparison to the Japanese release.
