Bandai Announces Resale of Popular Gundam x Hatsune Miku Collab Gunpla Kit

A highly sought-after model kit fusing the world of mecha anime with virtual pop music is making a return to the market.

Bandai has announced a new sales period for the “RG 1/144 MS-06S Zaku II [Hatsune Miku Ver.],” giving fans another opportunity to acquire the limited-edition item.

This re-release is part of the ongoing “Gundam 45th Anniversary x Hatsune Miku” project, a massive collaboration that celebrates the enduring legacy of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise alongside the global cultural phenomenon of Hatsune Miku.

The Zaku II kit is based on the Real Grade (RG) interpretation of the MS-06S, the mobile suit famously piloted by Char Aznable, but it swaps the traditional military red for a refreshing pop-idol aesthetic.

The visual design is defined by a distinct color palette of white, grey, black, and teal, which are instantly recognizable as Hatsune Miku’s signature hues.

These colors have been faithfully reproduced through the use of precisely colored plastic molding during manufacturing, ensuring the kit looks accurate even without extensive painting.

In terms of accessories, the model comes fully equipped with standard Zeon weaponry, including the Zaku machine gun, the heavy Zaku bazooka, and the heat hawk melee weapon, allowing for a variety of dynamic poses.

It also features original “Realistic Decals” designed specifically for this collaboration to add extra mechanical density to the finished build.

While the return of the Zaku II is the highlight for those who missed the previous sale, it is being accompanied by a brand new product in the same line.

The “RG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.2.0 [Hatsune Miku Ver.]” will also be available, featuring a blue-green, silver, and black color scheme and special beam saber effects.

The returning “RG 1/144 MS-06S Zaku II [Hatsune Miku Ver.]” is priced at 3,850 yen (approx. $26.00 USD / £20.50 GBP) and is scheduled for shipment in May 2026.

The new “RG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.2.0 [Hatsune Miku Ver.]” is priced slightly higher at 4,290 yen (approx. $29.00 USD / £23.00 GBP) and also ships in May 2026.

Both kits are being sold exclusively through a lottery system on the Premium Bandai online store.

Pre-orders and sales for both gunpla kits are being managed through a lottery system on Premium Bandai.

The lottery application period opens on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 11:00 JST (RG 1/144 MS-06S Zaku II [Hatsune Miku Ver.]) and 12:00 JST (RG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.2.0 [Hatsune Miku Ver.]), with applications being accepted until 3:00 PM on Monday, February 2, 2026.
