AION 2 Set for Worldwide Launch in September

Developer NCSOFT announced on June 5, 2026, that the open world MMORPG AION 2 will launch worldwide for PC in September 2026.

This global release follows the game’s initial launch in South Korea and Taiwan on November 19, 2025, where it was available on PC, iOS, and Android platforms.

The upcoming international version will be accessible to players via Steam and the NCSOFT PURPLE launcher.

Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the title features a massive world approximately 36 times the size of the original AION map.

AION 2 differentiates itself from other entries in the genre by focusing heavily on aerial combat and verticality within its gameplay loop.

Players take on the role of a Daeva and utilize flight as a core mechanic for exploration and tactical advantage during three dimensional battles.

The combat system is designed to be fast paced and relies on precision, timing, and skill chaining rather than static ability rotations.

Content offerings include over 200 dungeons ranging from solo challenges to eight player group raids, alongside seasonal events and competitive rankings.

Faction based warfare continues through the Abyss, while the Shugo Festival provides a social break with various mini games and unique cosmetic rewards.

Extensive character customization is a major highlight, offering more than 200 options to adjust appearance, mounts, and wings.
