Lambassador Festival 2026

Last Updated on March 14, 2026

Tokyo is preparing to host the Lambassador Festival, a celebration dedicated to the promotion and enjoyment of Australian lamb.

The gathering will take place at Nakano Central Park, a popular green space located just a short walk from Nakano Station.

While many people in Japan associate lamb primarily with the northern specialty known as jingisukan, this event aims to showcase the versatility of the meat through many culinary preparations.

Visitors can expect to find a wide array of creative food options, including savory lamb and chickpea stews as well as lamb-filled steamed buns known as nikuman.

Other unique offerings on the menu include lamb-based hot dogs, providing a modern twist on a classic snack.

Entrance to the festival grounds is free of charge, though attendees should bring currency to purchase individual dishes from the various food stalls.

The event serves as a platform for the Lambassador Preparatory Committee to highlight high-quality meat imports and foster a deeper appreciation for lamb beyond traditional Japanese grilling methods.

Accessing the venue is convenient for commuters, as the park is situated less than five minutes on foot from the nearby transit hub.
