Kameido Tenjin Shrine Plum Festival 2026
Last Updated on March 5, 2026

The Kameido Tenjin Shrine in Koto Ward is preparing to host its annual plum blossom festival, an event that celebrates the arrival of spring in Tokyo.
Visitors to the historic grounds will be able to view approximately 300 plum trees which are expected to display a variety of colors from soft white to deep pink.
This seasonal display is a highlight for the local community and offers a serene atmosphere for those looking to enjoy the early blossoms before the cherry blossom season begins.
In addition to the plum trees, the shrine is well known for its picturesque bridges and traditional architecture which provide a scenic backdrop for photography enthusiasts.
Following this event, the shrine will also prepare for its celebrated wisteria festival which typically occurs later in the spring season.
The location is easily accessible for those traveling by public transport, as it is situated a short walk from Kameido Station which connects to the JR Chuo-Sobu Line and the Tobu Kameido Line.
Guests arriving at the station can reach the shrine entrance in about 12 minutes on foot while passing through the local neighborhood of Koto Ward.
The festival provides an opportunity for both locals and tourists to experience a long standing cultural tradition in one of the city’s most peaceful religious sites.
