Yu-Gi-Oh!’s Red-Eyes Black Dragon joins Kotobukiya’s affordable “OSHI WORKS” figure line

Kotobukiya has officially unveiled the latest entry in its “OSHI WORKS” figure brand, featuring a legendary creature from the classic anime Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters.
Based on the manga by the late Kazuki Takahashi, Yu-Gi-Oh! became a global phenomenon that popularized the “Duel Monsters” trading card game, centering on Yugi Muto and his journey to solve the Millennium Puzzle.

This new figure depicts the “Red-Eyes Black Dragon,” a ferocious beast with potential equal to the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, best known as the signature ace card of the protagonist’s best friend, Joey Wheeler (Katsuya Jonouchi).

The “OSHI WORKS” line derives its name from the Japanese fan term “oshi,” meaning one’s absolute favorite character or idol.

Kotobukiya positions this brand as a “wallet-friendly” series perfect for both new and seasoned collectors, emphasizing affordability while maintaining high-quality sculpting and paintwork that surpasses standard prize figures.

Standing at an imposing height of approximately 24 centimeters, this non-scale figure captures the dark, metallic sheen and aggressive posture of the dragon.

Uniquely, the figure utilizes cylindrical shafts in the shoulders, thighs, and support pillar, allowing collectors to adjust the pose and positioning to best fit their specific display space.

To facilitate easy collection, the figure comes with a standardized square base designed to be displayed neatly alongside other entries in the series.

This announcement follows the recent reveal of the Mai Valentine OSHI WORKS figure, with other Yu-Gi-Oh! offerings in the line including Buster Blader and Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

While Mai is set to arrive in June 2026, the Red-Eyes Black Dragon will follow shortly after to expand the roster.
The figure is priced at 9,350 yen (approx. $61.00 USD / £48.00 GBP) and is scheduled for release in July 2026.

Pre-orders for the “OSHI WORKS Red-Eyes Black Dragon” are currently open via the Kotobukiya Online Shop, as well as via other retailers such as HobbyLink Japan.
