You’ll need to be as fast as a ninja to order the exclusive “Hell’s Paradise” inspired watch

A special commemorative chronograph wristwatch will go on sale to celebrate the highly anticipated second season of the anime adaptation of Yuji Kaku’s popular manga “Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku.”
Japanese merchandise company Toei has announced the pre-order launch of the “‘Hell’s Paradise’ Edo no Koku Chronograph Watch” through their Anime Luxury Collection outlet.

This unique timepiece draws inspiration not only from the dark and action-packed world of “Hell’s Paradise,” but also from the traditional Japanese timekeeping system of the Edo period, known as “Edo no Koku”.

This system, based on the “irregular time system”, divided daylight and nighttime each into six segments, with the length of these “koku” shifting with the seasons – a stark contrast to our modern, fixed-hour system and a testament to a life lived in harmony with nature.
The watch face intricately blends the aesthetics of “Hell’s Paradise” with traditional Japanese design.
The hours are marked by the twelve zodiac signs and numerals, subtly incorporating Gabimaru’s ninja techniques.

The design also features a 60-minute counter reminiscent of flames and the Wu Xing (Five Elements) theory, a 60-second counter inspired by a traditional Japanese umbrella, and a 24-hour indicator expressed using the Edo period’s irregular time system.

Traditional watchmaking techniques, such as guilloché engraving, further enhance this fusion of worlds.

Adding versatility, the watch comes with an interchangeable nylon band inspired by the red ribbon of Yamada Asaemon Sagiri.

This 2-way specification allows wearers to customize the watch to match their mood or style.
This is a special limited edition, with only 1000 pieces being produced. Each watch will feature a laser-engraved “Hell’s Paradise” logo and an individual edition number, ensuring its exclusivity.

The watch also boasts a durable screw-back case for added robustness.
The “’Hell’s Paradise’ Edo no Koku Chronograph Watch” will be delivered in a specially crafted paulownia wood box, adorned with the “Hell’s Paradise” logo in enduring gold leaf. The interior features a deep red design evoking the imagery of fire.

As a special bonus, each purchase includes a wooden guarantee card featuring original animation artwork from “Hell’s Paradise.”

Paying homage to the wooden tags used for records and proof during the Edo period, this unique item beautifully captures the anime’s artwork on a traditional material in a touch that will be appreciated by fans of the series.
Reservations can now be made via the AnimeCollection official page for the watch, which is priced at 27,500 yen including tax (approx. $188.99 USD/£142.29 GBP).
For those lucky enough to secure this unique anime themed timepiece, the watch is currently scheduled to be delivered in November 2025.
