Yamaha to release real-life replica of Hitori Gotoh’s custom guitar from Bocchi the Rock!
The musical instrument manufacturer Yamaha has announced a new collaboration with the popular anime series, Bocchi the Rock!, which will see the release of a faithful, real-life replica of the electric guitar used by the protagonist, Hitori “Bocchi” Gotoh.
The new “PACIFICA611V BTR LTD” is a special-edition version of Yamaha’s famous Pacifica electric guitar.
This new release follows a number of previous, successful collaborations between Yamaha and the hit anime, including a “DIVE STAGE” event that used the latest technology to recreate a live performance by the in-series “Kessoku Band.”
The new, limited-edition guitar is a detailed recreation of the “custom-spec” guitar that Bocchi uses in the series.
It is based on the 2015 “PACIFICA611VFM” model and has been updated with a number of special features to match the anime.
These include a new, glossy black finish with a matching black pickguard and a satin finish on the back of the neck.
The hardware has also been carefully selected to match the anime, including a Seymour Duncan SP-90 pickup in the neck position and a Seymour Duncan TB-14 in the bridge, as well as Grover locking tuners and a Wilkinson VS-50 tremolo bridge.
The guitar comes with a number of exclusive accessories, including a custom gig bag with the “BOCCHI THE ROCK!” logo on the shoulder strap and a certificate of authenticity that has a serial number matching the one that is laser-engraved on the back of the guitar’s headstock.
In a comment, the original manga creator, Aki Hamaji, said:
“The Bocchi the Rock! edition of the Pacifica is here! They’ve paid attention to the finest details, like the back of the neck, making it look just like it does in the anime!”
The “PACIFICA611V BTR LTD” is a limited-edition item, with a total production run of approximately 650 units.
It will be sold exclusively through a three-phase lottery system.
The first lottery will be held on the Aniplex Online store from the 15th to the 28th of October.
The second will be held at Yamaha’s directly managed retail stores from the 7th to the 28th of November.
The third and final lottery will be held on the “Sheet Music Store” e-commerce site from the 15th to the 26th of December.
The guitar is priced at ¥121,000 (approx. $825 USD / £655 GBP).
It is also scheduled to be exhibited in person at the Yamaha Sound Crossing Shibuya brand store and at the “Tokyo Gakki Haku 2025” (Tokyo Musical Instrument Expo).
