Yakuza’s Ichiban Kasuga joins Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in free update

A major new crossover has been announced for the hit racing game, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, as SEGA has revealed that Ichiban Kasuga from the Yakuza series is joining the roster.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a popular racing title from SEGA, which has been highly praised by fans, earning an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam and a Metacritic user score above 9.0.

Ichiban Kasuga is the main protagonist of the modern Yakuza/Ryu ga Gotoku games, celebrated for his enthusiastic and heroic personality.

The free update adds Ichiban Kasuga as a playable racer, along with his own original machine, the “Dragon Brave.”

The update also includes two songs from the Yakuza series, “Asphodelos” and “A Hero’s Path,” which will be added to the in-game Jukebox for players to enjoy.

To celebrate the new content, a special in-game collaboration event will launch tomorrow.

The “Yakuza Ichiban Kasuga Festa” is a limited-time online event where players compete in three teams, facing special rules such as “competing for the number of Touch Dashes.”

By earning event points, players can unlock exclusive in-game items, including special stickers and horns to customize their machines.

SEGA also released a new promotional video showing Ichiban’s voice actor, Kazuhiro Nakaya, playing the game as his character.
A free demo of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is also available on all platforms, and save data will transfer to the full game.

The free update for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds featuring Ichiban Kasuga is available now, having been released on Thursday, November 6.

The limited-time “Yakuza Ichiban Kasuga Festa” is scheduled to run from November 7 at 9:00 AM (JST) until November 10 at 8:59 AM (JST).
