Tokyo’s new hololive event features a giant gachapon machine and exclusive merch

“Hello hololive,” a new special event based on the popular VTuber group, has officially opened in Tokyo’s iconic SHIBUYA TSUTAYA building.
The event is a “store jack,” a type of promotion where a brand takes over a retail space, which will see the VTuber group Hololive featured throughout the store’s first floor.

The core of the “Hello hololive” event is the official unveiling of new key visuals for a total of 31 different talents from the Japanese branch of the VTuber group.
These new illustrations will be part of a special exhibition and will also be featured on a wide range of new and exclusive merchandise.

The lineup of goods includes SHIBUYA TSUTAYA exclusive collaboration items.
These exclusive goods are:
- Random Can Badges (4 groups, 31 varieties total): ¥660

- Random Mini Shikishi Art Boards (4 groups, 31 varieties total): ¥660

- Mini Canvas-style Boards (31 varieties): ¥770

- Passport Case: ¥1,650

A separate line of made-to-order merchandise is also available for pre-order online.
This includes microfiber towels featuring each of the 31 new pieces of artwork, and a large B2 tapestry of the main group visual.

A key attraction at the event is a giant capsule toy, or gachapon, machine.

This machine dispenses figures from the “hololive friends to Go” plushie line, with the roster of available characters changing halfway through the event.

Each play of the giant capsule toy also comes with a free, original “photo board” designed to be used as a backdrop for the figures.

A gift-with-purchase campaign is also running, where customers who spend over ¥2,200 on eligible goods will receive one of eight possible random postcards.

Due to expected crowds, entry to the merchandise area during the opening weekend is being managed by a free, timed-entry reservation ticket.
The “Hello hololive” event is located at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA 1F, 21-6 Udagawacho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and it is scheduled to run from the 15th of August until Sunday, the 24th of August, 2025.
