Third season of Initial D sequel “MF GHOST” will premiere in January 2026

The third season of the popular racing anime MF Ghost has been officially announced and is scheduled to begin its broadcast in January 2026.
MF Ghost is based on the manga by Shuichi Shigeno and serves as the official sequel series to the legendary street racing franchise, Initial D.

The story is set in the near future and follows a new protagonist, Kanata Rivington, as he competes in a new generation of road races.
This new announcement was first revealed to fans who attended the recent “Initial D 30th Anniversary 2days” event at the Fuji Speedway, and a new, second teaser visual for the upcoming season has also been released.

The second season of the anime, which was broadcast in October 2024, ended with Kanata in the middle of a difficult race, and this new season will continue that story.
The main staff and the extensive voice cast for the new season have also been confirmed.

The animation production will once again be handled by the studio FelixFilm, with Tomohito Naka returning as the director.
The main cast, including Yuma Uchida as Kanata Rivington and Ayane Sakura as Ren Saionji, will be reprising their roles.
A number of voice actors from the original Initial-D anime, including Tomokazu Seki as Keisuke Takahashi and Takehito Koyasu as Ryosuke Takahashi, will also be returning.
