The Hi-v Gundam is getting a new event exclusive METAL BUILD figure in 2026

Bandai Spirits has revealed an unexpected new version of one of its most popular high-end Gundam figures.
The new “METAL BUILD Hi-v Gundam 2026 (Tentative Title)” was announced as a commemorative item for an upcoming, standalone METAL BUILD event.

The METAL BUILD brand is Bandai’s top-tier collector’s line, known for its large scale, intricate detail, and heavy use of die-cast metal parts.

The Hi-v Gundam is the iconic, powerful mobile suit piloted by Amuro Ray in the novel Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika’s Children, and is one of the most popular designs in the franchise.

This new 2026 version features a radical redesign, as the figure’s signature fin funnels are not arranged in their traditional wing-like pattern.

Instead, they are mounted on the backpack in a style much closer to the standard v-Gundam (Nu Gundam).

The funnels themselves are also finished in a striking, vivid blue color, which stands out against the suit’s tricolor body.

A sample of this new figure is currently on display at the “TAMASHII NATION 2025” event, which runs from November 14-16.

It joins other major high-end reveals at the event, including the “METAL BUILD Gundam Barbatos” and the newly revealed “G.F.F.M.C. Wing Gundam Zero Cloaked Custom.”

The “METAL BUILD Hi-v Gundam 2026 (Tentative Title)” will be an event-exclusive item for a standalone METAL BUILD event, which is scheduled to be held at the TAMASHII NATIONS STORE TOKYO in the spring of 2026.

A pre-sale for CLUB TAMASHII MEMBERS (CTM) has also been announced.
A first-come, first-served sale for “Ocean Stage” members and above will run from January 20, 2026, at 16:00 to January 22, 2026, at 23:00 (JST).

This will be followed by a pre-lottery sale for all CTM members, which is scheduled to run from January 23 at 16:00 to January 26 at 23:00 (JST).
