“The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.” Anime Marks Its 10th Anniversary With New Visuals and Merch

The production team behind the anime adaptation of “The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.” has kicked off a huge new anniversary project marking a milestone for the series.
The new project has begun with the release of new visuals and details of further plans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the anime, which adapted Shuichi Aso’s legendary comedy manga.

Since originally premiering on July 4, 2016, the anime has delivered 280 entertaining episodes across four seasons.
The original manga enjoyed a highly successful six-year serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump, selling over 9 million copies worldwide.

The story follows the pink-haired teenager Kusuo Saiki, who desperately tries to live a normal, quiet life despite possessing nearly every superpower imaginable.

His plans for a peaceful existence are constantly ruined by his eccentric classmates, including the dim-witted Riki Nendo, the delusional Shun Kaido, and the fiercely perfect Kokomi Teruhashi.
The anime series perfectly blends deadpan humor with chaotic situations, earning a highly dedicated global fanbase.

To kick off the celebrations, a brand new commemorative visual has been released featuring these fan-favorite characters playfully bursting out of a framed painting.

A charming deformed illustration of Saiki bending a spoon with his mind, originally debuted at Jump Festa 2026, has been updated into a special anniversary icon.
The festivities will continue with a massive viewer voting campaign to determine the absolute best moments from the entire animated run.

Supporters can cast their votes for their favorite overall episodes, as well as specific bonus categories highlighting the most heart-fluttering, exasperating, and “Offu” inducing moments.
Original creator Shuichi Aso shared a comedic message for the milestone, noting that the manga has not officially celebrated its own anniversary yet.

He playfully teased that he might have to “launch some fireworks of his own” and “release a two or three page sequel just to avoid being outdone by the anime”.
Lead voice actor Hiroshi Kamiya also reflected on the massive reach of the series, sharing a funny anecdote about a hospital nurse praising the show while he was receiving an IV drip.

He expressed his deep gratitude to the fans, stating that even after ten years, the series continues to emit a unique brilliance and individuality.
Looking ahead, the production team plans to release non-credit opening and ending videos on YouTube in June, followed by special endurance videos in July.

The top three voted episodes, along with the winners of the bonus categories, will be streamed for free on the Jump Channel on YouTube for a limited time.
These highly-ranked episodes will directly inspire a brand new line of commemorative merchandise.

Fans will be able to purchase the new merchandise goods through an online lottery system at a later date.
The free anniversary streams are scheduled to begin on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
The official episode voting period will run from Friday, May 1, 2026, until Sunday, May 31, 2026 via the official 10th anniversary website.
