Stunning Art Nouveau Inspired Frieren and Himmel Figures Revealed by Design COCO

Pre-orders have officially begun for two new scale figures based on the hit anime series Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.

The new releases feature the elf mage Frieren and the hero Himmel and are available for purchase as individual statues or as a combined set.

These items are the result of a collaboration between the high-end figure manufacturer Design COCO and the renowned animation studio Madhouse.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End follows the story of an elven mage who must come to terms with the mortality of her human companions after their ten-year quest to defeat the Demon King concludes.

The series has garnered critical acclaim for its poignant exploration of time, memory, and grief, themes that are reflected in the design of these collectibles.

For this special release, the manufacturers have chosen to adapt an illustration by animator Ayaka Minoshima.

The design follows an “Art Nouveau” aesthetic, characterized by organic lines and a sense of elegance that differs from the standard character designs seen in the show.

The sculptors at Design COCO have worked under the direct supervision of Madhouse to ensure the transition from 2D illustration to 3D figure remains faithful to the original artwork.

Visual highlights include the intricate flow of Frieren’s hair and the realistic texturing of the fabric wrinkles on Himmel’s outfit.

Both figures feature bases adorned with Blue Moon Weed, a flower that holds significant narrative weight within the series as a symbol of Himmel’s home and his promise to Frieren.

Collectors who wish to display the pair together can opt for a special set that includes both characters.

Exclusive to the Design COCO official store, this double pack comes with interchangeable face parts that allow for a different expression, adding to the display options.
