Studio Ghibli releases new and improved Howl’s Moving Castle Perpetual Calendar

A popular “perpetual calendar” featuring the iconic, moving castle from the beloved Studio Ghibli film, Howl’s Moving Castle, has officially been re-released.
The 2004 film, written and directed by the legendary Hayao Miyazaki, is one of the most celebrated and commercially successful animated films of all time, earning an Academy Award nomination.

Based on the novel by Diana Wynne Jones, the story is famous for its magical, walking castle, which is a central “character” in its own right.

This new and updated calendar is a highly detailed, non-articulated statue of that very castle, with the full calendar function integrated into its design.

The item is a “perpetual calendar,” which can be used every year by arranging a series of small cubes that are marked with the dates and days of the week.

The statue itself is an impressive and intricate recreation of the famous ramshackle structure, with all of its various turrets, cannons, and legs crafted in meticulous detail.

It stands approximately 11cm tall and is made from polyresin and zinc alloy, giving it a substantial 280g weight.

The calendar comes in a premium, high-quality package, making it an ideal gift for fans of the film.

Due to its high popularity as a collector’s item, sales are restricted to one per person, and Studio Ghibli has warned that any suspected reseller or “scalper” orders will be canceled.

The “Howl’s Moving Castle Perpetual Calendar” is priced at ¥16,500 (approx. $112 USD / £89 GBP).

Orders can now be placed online via Studio Ghibli’s official retailer, Donguri Kyowakoku, whilst stocks last.
