STRICT G Launches New Gundam X 30th Anniversary T-Shirt Collection

Gundam’s official fashion brand STRICT-G has revealed two new After War Gundam X T-shirts to celebrate the anime’s 30th anniversary, featuring brush-art illustrations of the Gundam X and Gundam Virsago.
After War Gundam X premiered in Japan on April 5, 1996, as the third Gundam television series set outside the franchise’s main Universal Century timeline.

The series takes place on an alternate Earth devastated by a war that ended with the mass deployment of colony drops, leaving much of civilization in ruins and forcing the survivors to rebuild within a harsh post-apocalyptic world.

Its story follows young scavenger Garrod Ran after he encounters the mysterious Tiffa Adill and joins the crew of the land battleship Freeden, whose members work to protect people believed to possess Newtype abilities.

Garrod’s determination to protect Tiffa forms the emotional heart of the series, while the conflict between the New United Nations Earth and the Space Revolutionary Army threatens to push humanity toward another devastating war.

The anime also introduced a unique lineup of mobile suits, including the satellite-powered Gundam X and the heavily armed Gundam Virsago piloted by Shagia Frost.
The first anniversary shirt features the Gundam X against a navy base, with sweeping brush strokes giving Garrod’s signature mobile suit a greater sense of speed and movement.

Its artwork highlights the recognizable silhouette of the Gundam X while drawing attention to the powerful machine associated with the series’ iconic Satellite Cannon.
The second design places the Gundam Virsago against a black shirt, using the machine’s deep red coloring and aggressive silhouette to create a darker contrast with the heroic Gundam X release.

Both illustrations use an energetic hand-painted style inspired by traditional Japanese ink-brush artwork, offering a more artistic alternative to shirts built around standard promotional images or character portraits.
The shirts are made in Japan from 100% cotton, with the domestic production intended to provide carefully managed stitching, a comfortable fabric and a fit designed around Japanese sizing.

Both designs are available in sizes M through XXL, with the Gundam X offered in navy and the Gundam Virsago offered in black.
The Gundam X and Gundam Virsago T-shirts are each priced at ¥6,600 (approx. $44 USD / £33 GBP) through Premium Bandai Japan, while both are priced at $55 (approx. £41 GBP) through Premium Bandai US.

Japanese pre-orders opened on July 31 and will remain available through August 9, 2026, while US pre-orders are also currently open through Premium Bandai US
Orders placed through Premium Bandai Japan are currently scheduled to ship during August 2026, followed by US orders in October 2026.
