Square Enix to release “Adorable Arts” figures of Final Fantasy IX’s Zidane and Vivi

Square Enix has announced that two characters from Final Fantasy IX will be joining their Adorable Arts figure range.
Final Fantasy IX, originally released in 2000 for the PlayStation, was a return to the series’ fantasy roots.

Unlike its predecessors, FFVII and FFVIII, FFIX embraced a more classical medieval style aesthetic.
The game’s distinct graphical style, featuring slightly deformed, expressive character models, contributed significantly to its enduring charm.

The two characters being turned into figures are Zidane Tribal, the chivalrous protagonist, and Vivi Ornitier, the endearing black mage.

These two new figures are being produced as Final Fantasy IX celebrates its 25th anniversary.

The anniversary has resulted in a number of new products, including a life-size replica of Vivi’s hat.

The “Adorable Arts” line aims to capture the essence of Final Fantasy characters in a unique, “deformed” style that directly harks back to the in-game graphics of Final Fantasy IX.

This design choice allows the figures to be both “cool and cute” as well as appealing to fans who appreciate the art direction of the original game.

The figures are designed to appear as if they have stepped directly out of the game, recreating the distinct, charmingly stylized character models from Final Fantasy IX.

Both the Zidane and Vivi figures come with interchangeable parts, allowing collectors to display them in a variety of different expressive poses.

The “Final Fantasy IX Adorable Arts Zidane Tribal” and “Final Fantasy IX Adorable Arts Vivi Ornitier” figures are now available for pre-order through Square Enix’s online store and each figure is priced at 7,480 yen (approx. $51.55 USD / £38.18 GBP).

Fans keen to own these new renditions of Zidane and Vivi are encouraged to place their pre-orders shortly to avoid disappointment, as pre-orders may close if the figures sell out in advance of their release.

Pre-orders are currently scheduled to ship to customers in late November 2025.
