Square Enix releases new Chrono Trigger piano music album
Square Enix has officially released a new piano arrangement album based on the legendary RPG “Chrono Trigger.”
“Chrono Trigger” was originally released in 1995 and is celebrated as a “dream project” developed by a team including Yuji Horii, Akira Toriyama, and Hironobu Sakaguchi.
The new “CHRONO TRIGGER Piano Soundscape Arrangement” album focuses specifically on character themes, featuring 12 newly arranged tracks designed to offer a nostalgic yet fresh experience.
The selection includes beloved classics like “Frog’s Theme” and “Robo’s Theme,” as well as tracks that follow the game’s narrative flow, such as the “Gato’s Song” medley and the dramatic “Magus’s Castle” sequence.
A promotional video has been released on YouTube to celebrate the launch, blending original gameplay footage with the new piano melodies.

This release coincides with a busy period of 30th-anniversary celebrations for the franchise.
Square Enix recently revealed the results of the official “Characters Across Time” popularity poll.
In a competitive field, the noble swordsman Frog claimed the number one spot, followed by the protagonist Crono in second and the futuristic robot Robo in third.
To further celebrate the milestone, digital versions of the game are currently being offered at a 50% discount on smartphone and Steam platforms for a limited time.
“CHRONO TRIGGER Piano Soundscape Arrangement” was released on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
It is available in both physical package and digital download formats, including high-resolution audio, via the Square Enix e-STORE and major digital music platforms.
The official website also features an interview between the arrangers, Sachiko Miyano and Shogo Nomura, discussing the background of the music production.
