Square Enix Announces Final Fantasy IX House Music Album and Vivi Apparel

Square Enix has announced the simultaneous release of two new products that celebrate the world of Final Fantasy IX through both music and fashion.
The new collection centers around Vivi Ornitier, the black mage who remains one of the most popular characters in the franchise, serving as the visual icon for this dual release.

The musical component of the release is titled “Final Fantasy IX – House Grooves”, an arrangement album that reimagines the game’s soundtrack through the lens of house music.
The album is described as capturing the poignant yet powerful melodies of the original game within the deep reverberations of the deep house genre, exploring the theme of the “memories of a journey” that questioned the meaning of life.

The collection features twelve tracks that have been sublimated into sophisticated beats by a variety of artists, including SEQUENCE, Lonely Boy, DJ Synthesizer, and Kai Saruwatari.
The full track listing for the album includes the following songs, though the final order is subject to change:
- The Place I’ll Return to Someday
- You’re Not Alone
- Battle 1 ~ Vamo’alla flamenco
- Over the Hill
- Something to Protect ~ Rose of May
- Black Mage Village
- The Mist Respires
- Terra
- Freya’s Theme
- Village of Dali
- Song of Memories
- The Prelude
Complementing the music is a new apparel collaboration with the brand Lit Bāff Apt.
The “Final Fantasy IX x Lit Bāff Apt. – Trance VIVI T-Shirt” features a large, high-impact print of Vivi in his “Trance” state on the front, showcasing the mysterious and powerful visual of the character’s powered-up form.

The shirt is made from 100% cotton and includes an original brand name tag, though the manufacturer notes that due to special processing on the body, there may be slight individual differences in color and size.

It will be available in three sizes: M, L, and XL.
The Final Fantasy IX x Lit Bāff Apt. – Trance VIVI Tee is priced at 7,700 yen (approx. $52.00 USD / £40.00 GBP), while pricing for the album varies by retailer.

Both the album and the T-shirt are scheduled to go on sale on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Those who purchase the album early at Amazon Japan will receive a “Mega Jacket” as a bonus item.
A full list of retailers for the album is available on a special website, whilst the T-shirt will be available directly from the Square Enix online store.
