SPY×FAMILY Musical Announces 2026 Sequel Adapting Doggy Bomb and Luxury Cruise Arcs

The world of secret agent Loid Forger and his unconventional family is set to return to the stage with the official announcement of a sequel musical production based on Tatsuya Endō’s hit manga series, SPY×FAMILY.

Titled SPY×FAMILY 2: Bakudan Inu-hen & Gōka Kyakusen-hen, the new show will adapt two fan-favorite storylines from the source material, the Doggy Bomb Arc and the Luxury Cruise Ship Arc.

The production is slated for an extensive run stretching from September through December 2026, building on the success of the previous stage musical.

The sequel will first have a preview run at Westa Kawagoe in Saitama in September, followed by its official premiere at the Tokyo Tatemono Brillia Hall, where it will run until October.

The theatrical run will continue into November at the Hakataza Theater in Fukuoka before concluding in December with performances at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center KOBELCO Main Hall, Misono-za in Nagoya, and the Yamagin Prefectural Hall in Yamagata.

The musical will see the return of several key cast members who brought the Forger family to life in the previous musical.

Win Morisaki and Fuka Yuzuki are reprising their roles as Loid and Yor, respectively.

Kento Kiuchi will also return as the second actor for Loid, having previously stepped in for Genki Hirakata due to health concerns during the original run.

The role of the second actress for Yor will now be played by Kiho Maaya, taking over from Sora Kazuki.

Other cast members include Tōru Isono as Keith Kepler, Hitomi Arisa as Olka Gretcher, Kazuya Naraki as Zeb, and Keigo Yoshino as Matthew McMahon.

Manato Asaka will return as Sylvia Sherwood, joined by Haruka Manase as a new actress for the role.

Following the tradition of the previous production, actresses for the crucial role of the telepathic adopted daughter, Anya Forger, will once again be determined via open audition.

Behind the scenes, Shuhei Kamimura will handle the music composition, arrangement, and direction, while G2 is credited with the direction, script, and lyrics.

This upcoming sequel follows the successful first stage musical adaptation, which enjoyed an extensive tour across Japan.

The stage production is the latest adaptation of the widely successful “SPY×FAMILY” franchise, which originated as a manga written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endō.

The story centers on master spy Twilight, known as Loid Forger, who must form a fake family to complete his mission to infiltrate an elite private school.

Unbeknownst to him, the wife he chooses is a deadly assassin named Yor, and the child he adopts, Anya, is a telepath with the ability to read minds.

The manga debuted on Shonen Jump+ in 2019 and continues to be published by Shueisha, with the 16th compiled book volume having been recently released.

Viz Media publishes the original manga in English and simulpublishes it on its MANGA Plus service.

The story’s popularity exploded with the launch of the anime adaptation, which has produced three seasons since 2022.

In addition to the series, the franchise released the original anime film “SPY×FAMILY Code: White”, which dominated the Japanese box office upon its opening and later saw a North American release via Crunchyroll.
