Sold out Gundam Wing Heero Yuy hooded flight jacket gets a re-release

The Gundam-themed apparel brand STRICT-G has announced a made-to-order re-release of its popular L-2 HOODIE jacket, created in collaboration with the heritage military brand SPIEWAK.
The collaboration is part of the 30th-anniversary celebration for the Gundam Wing franchise and is a partnership between STRICT-G and SPIEWAK, an American company with a long history of producing authentic military and workwear apparel.

Themed around the character Heero Yuy from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, the jacket was first released in May 2025 and sold out, with this new run being produced to meet high fan demand.

The jacket is a new take on a classic flight jacket, made from heavy nylon twill and featuring a detachable fleece hood.

It also features a variety of patches inspired by the protagonist, Heero Yuy.
A unique gimmick is included on the chest, where a removable SPIEWAK brand patch reveals the name “HEERO YUY” hidden underneath.

The inner lining of the jacket features a large-scale design of the Wing Gundam Zero Custom.

To commemorate the collaboration, a new, original illustration of Heero Yuy wearing the jacket has been created.

As a special bonus, customers who purchase the jacket will receive a free acrylic stand featuring this new artwork.

The “STRICT-G SPIEWAK L-2 HOODIE Heero Yuy Model” is available in a range of sizes from S to 3L and is priced at ¥44,000 (approx. $298 USD/£223 GBP).
Pre-orders for this made-to-order re-release are now open via the “STRICT-G Online Store” within the Premium Bandai website.
The pre-order window is scheduled to remain open until the 24th of August, 2025.
Pre-orders will be shipped in April 2026, and the jacket will also receive a general in-store release at STRICT-G stores at the same time.
Other recently announced pieces of Gundam merchandise include a range of earphones based on characters from Gundam SEED, and also a pair of over-ear headphones based on Char Aznable from the original Gundam anime.

As of September 2025, another previously sold-out Heero Yuy flight jacket, this time based on the ALPHA INDUSTRIES classic N-2B jacket, will also be re-released.
