Shonen Jump reveals new free-to-play mobile game

Shonen Jump has officially announced a new mobile game application set to launch for Android and iOS devices later this year.
“Jump+ Jumble Rush” is a unique comic-style tower defense game that draws characters from the popular digital manga platform, Shonen Jump+.

The game will be available as a free download, utilizing an item-based payment system, where players can make optional in-app purchases for various items to enhance their gameplay experience.
Shonen Jump+ is an online manga platform created by Shueisha, a major Japanese publisher known for its iconic Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.

Launched in September 2014, Shonen Jump+ operates as a free mobile app and website, serializing a wide array of original manga titles, including hits like “Spy x Family,” “Kaiju No. 8,” and “Dandadan”.
The platform also offers digital editions of Weekly Shonen Jump and other Shueisha manga magazines, making it a comprehensive digital hub for manga enthusiasts.

“Jump+ Jumble Rush” promises to bring the universes of Shueisha’s manga to life in a fun new format.
The game stages are designed to resemble manga frames, providing a visually distinctive backdrop for the action.

As a tower defense game, players will strategically deploy characters from across Shonen Jump+ titles to fend off waves of approaching enemies.

The tower defense genre is a subgenre of strategy games where players defend a territory or objective by building and upgrading defensive structures (in this case, characters) along or within enemy paths.
This genre is known for its blend of strategic planning and real-time action, requiring players to optimize their defenses and adapt to evolving threats.

Players will have the opportunity to create “dream parties” by assembling characters from a wide range of genres serialized on Shonen Jump+, including action, battle, sci-fi, comedy, and romantic comedy.

The game will also allow players to relive “famous scenes” from various series through special moves and a “simultaneous attack technique” called “JUMBLE RUSH” where multiple characters make coordinated attacks.

To build excitement for the upcoming release, Bandai Namco Entertainment has launched a teaser promotional video (PV) on its official YouTube channel, showcasing key highlights of “Jump+ Jumble Rush.”
In conjunction with the game’s announcement and the opening of its official X (formerly Twitter) account (@jumpplus_Jumble), Bandai Namco Entertainment is running a “Follow & Repost Campaign”.

This campaign, scheduled to conclude at 11:59 PM JST on July 19th, offers participants a chance to win digital rewards.
A total of 1,000 individuals who follow the official X account and repost a designated campaign post will be randomly selected to receive up to 10,000 yen worth of “Eraberu Pay” gift points.
“Eraberu Pay” is a digital gift service that allows recipients to exchange “gift points” for various smartphone payment service points or products.
Further information, such as the released date of the game, are expected to be revealed in the near future.
