Seiko reveals limited edition Evangelion 30th anniversary watch

The official Evangelion fashion line “RADIO EVA” has announced the release of a high-end collaboration with the renowned Japanese watchmaker Seiko.
This release is part of the “THE 30” project, a celebration marking the 30th anniversary of the franchise, which began with the television broadcast of Neon Genesis Evangelion in 1995.

Created by Hideaki Anno, the series became a social phenomenon that redefined the mecha genre, eventually concluding with the blockbuster Rebuild of Evangelion film series in 2021.

The new “RADIO EVA ‘THE 30’ x Seiko Collaboration Watch (EVA-01 MODEL)” is a serious diver’s watch designed to encapsulate the world of the anime within a 45mm case.

Limited to a strictly controlled production run of just 300 units, the timepiece features a color palette inspired by the EVA-01 Test Type piloted by protagonist Shinji Ikari.
The design incorporates the unit’s signature purple and green accents against a black stainless steel case, creating a look that is both sporty and distinct.

A standout feature of the watch is the custom-molded second hand, which is shaped like the “Spear of Longinus,” an iconic artifact from the series.
The dial is decorated with a honeycomb pattern reminiscent of the NERV headquarters’ emergency displays, while the 12 o’clock position features a subtle silhouette of Unit-01’s face.

Additional details include markers at the 2 and 10 o’clock positions that mimic the glowing chest armor of the mecha.
Functionally, the watch is powered by Seiko’s reliable Caliber 4R36 mechanical automatic movement and boasts 200-meter water resistance suitable for diving.

It comes equipped with a durable silicon strap designed for active use, making it a practical accessory as well as a collector’s item.
Pre-orders began on Friday, December 12, 2025, through the RADIO EVA Online Store and the EVANGELION STORE ONLINE.

The watch is priced at 120,000 yen (approx. $805.00 USD / £635.00 GBP) and comes with a 3-year warranty.
This announcement adds to a wave of high-end watches revealed recently, joining an incredibly detailed PlayStation 30th anniversary watch, which is limited to 300 pieces worldwide.
