Secret Lair x Playstation to feature TLOU, God of War, Uncharted, Ghost of Tsushima and more
A new collaboration has been announced that will bring the worlds of some of the most iconic and beloved PlayStation franchises to the popular trading card game, Magic: The Gathering.
The new “Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair x PlayStation Superdrop” is a collection of seven different, unique “Secret Lair” drops, a series of limited-edition, direct-to-consumer card sets from the game’s publisher, Wizards of the Coast.
This massive crossover features characters, locations, and items from a number of the biggest games from PlayStation Studios, including The Last of Us, God of War, Horizon Forbidden West, and Ghost of Tsushima, all reimagined as playable Magic: The Gathering cards.
The full lineup of seven Secret Lair drops is as follows:
- Secret Lair x The Last of Us Part I
Featuring cards for Joel and Ellie that can be played on their own or as a powerful pair.
- Secret Lair x The Last of Us Part II
Featuring cards for an older Ellie and for Abby, which are designed to tell the intertwined story of the second game.
- Secret Lair x Uncharted
Featuring a card for the treasure hunter, Nathan Drake.
- Secret Lair x God of War: Greek
A drop focused on Kratos from the original trilogy, embodying “raw chaos.”
- Secret Lair x God of War: Norse
Featuring Kratos and his son Atreus, capturing their story of growth and legacy from the recent games.
- Secret Lair x Horizon Forbidden West
Featuring a card for the series’ protagonist, Aloy.
- Secret Lair x Ghost of Tsushima
Featuring a card for Jin Sakai that captures his dual identity as both a samurai and the “Ghost.”
In a statement, Neil Druckmann, the Head of Creative at Naughty Dog, said, “We have so many longtime Magic: the Gathering fans at Naughty Dog, so it was an awesome experience to work with the Wizards of the Coast team to bring these cards to life.”
This sentiment was echoed by the creative leads at the other studios, who all praised the collaborative process of faithfully translating their games into the card game format.
The “Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair x PlayStation Superdrop” will be available for a limited time on the official Secret Lair website.
The sale is scheduled to begin on Monday, the 27th of October, at 9:00 AM PT / 5:00 PM BST.
