Sanrio Reveals Adorable New Party Game for Switch and Switch 2

Sanrio has announced an exciting new multiplayer game for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, which will be the first title released under a newly established self publishing brand.
“Sanrio Party Land” will allow fans to interact with their favorite mascots in a colorful digital world.

Sanrio was originally founded in 1960 and has since grown into a massive global licensing powerhouse.
The corporation is famous for its cute aesthetic, popularizing iconic characters like Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, and Pompompurin worldwide.

This new digital adventure invites players to create their own custom avatars to explore a colorful town populated by these beloved characters.
The core gameplay features a wide variety of cooperative and competitive mini-games alongside classic digital board games to enjoy with friends.

Party games have historically been incredibly successful on Nintendo hardware, making this a perfect fit for the platform’s family-friendly audience.
This massive project serves as the debut title for “Sanrio Games”, a brand new internal publishing label created directly by the company.

Taking development in-house gives the brand much tighter control over how its expansive catalog of over 450 original characters is represented in the gaming space.

Executives plan to rapidly expand this gaming division, with roughly ten new video games scheduled to release through the label before March 2029.
A second unannounced game is also slated to launch before the end of the current fiscal year.

The company intends to deeply integrate these digital experiences with its physical assets, linking in-game elements with real-world merchandise, theme park visits, and the “Sanrio+” membership app.

Sanrio President and CEO Tomokuni Tsuji shared his hopes that this interactive gateway will bring smiles to more people and elevate the company’s overall value.
“Sanrio Party Land” is scheduled for a simultaneous global release in the fall of 2026 on both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.
