Sanrio gets spooky with the launch of a huge new Halloween themed prize lottery
A new prize lottery, or “Happy Kuji,” has been announced, featuring the popular Sanrio Characters in a special “Black Halloween” theme.
“Happy Kuji” is a “no-lose” lottery system where every ticket purchased wins an item from a tiered lineup of exclusive merchandise.
This new collection uses original, newly drawn illustrations of the characters in cute, black-themed Halloween costumes.
The lineup of characters is extensive, featuring a total of 14 different Sanrio stars, including My Melody and Kuromi, who are celebrating their 50th and 20th anniversaries, respectively, as well as the top three winners of the 2025 Sanrio Character Ranking: Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, and Pochacco.
The collection features a wide range of prizes across nine different tiers, plus a special “LAST” prize.
The full prize lineup is as follows:
- Special Prize
A large, 40cm plush of Cinnamoroll.
- Figure Prize (10 varieties)
A collection of character figures with a special, dark metallic paint finish.
- Plush Charm Prize (5 varieties)
Plush keychains of the characters dressed as ghosts and devils.
- Tote Bag Prize (5 varieties)
- Zipper Bag SET Prize (8 varieties)
A set of three different-sized zipper bags.
- Smartphone Strap Prize (5 varieties)
- Can Badge SET Prize (6 varieties)
- Acrylic Charm Prize (12 varieties)
- Sticker SET Prize (6 varieties)
- LAST Prize
A large, 40cm plush of Hello Kitty dressed as a black cat, which is awarded to the person who purchases the final ticket from a set.
The “Happy Kuji ‘Sanrio characters Halloween 2025′” will be available at a wide range of retailers, including Lawson, Ministop, and Lawson Store 100 convenience stores, as well as Ito-Yokado, Youme Town, bookstores, and hobby shops.
The lottery is scheduled to begin its rollout at stores across Japan from Friday, the 19th of September, 2025, with the price for one ticket set at ¥850.
