Sanrio Characters Smash Festa! Arrives in Japan March 26

Publisher and developer Tatsumaki Games, alongside developer Mankind Games, announced that Sanrio Characters Smash Festa! will launch for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on March 26, 2026.
The upcoming title is a fast paced action sports game that serves as a spiritual successor to the classic Super Famicom title Sanrio World Smash Ball.
Gameplay involves a unique blend of tennis style rallies and hockey like speed where players aim to smash a ball past opponents into a goal line.
The roster features over 20 playable Sanrio mascots, including popular figures such as Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Kuromi, each possessing individual statistics for movement speed, shot power, and lob range.
Players can explore a comprehensive single player Solo Mode that includes 50 different stages and a looping difficulty system that increases the challenge after the final stage is beaten.
Multiplayer options allow for significant local and online engagement, supporting up to four players in 1v1 singles or 2v2 doubles matches.
The game features 55 total stages filled with interactive gimmicks, such as breakable blocks and unpredictable mechanics, to encourage strategic play.
Online functionality includes Random Match play against others across Japan and a Room Match feature that allows friends to connect using specific room numbers.
While the PC version will be available globally via Steam, some reports indicate that certain digital versions and storefront pages may be focused on the Japanese market at launch.
Sanrio Characters Smash Festa! aims to deliver a vibrant audiovisual experience with a soundtrack of new compositions and remixed franchise melodies when it arrives on March 26, 2026.
